Crystal Cruises Announces Itineraries for 2014 and Early 2015

Crystal Cruises recently announced its full year of worldwide voyages for 2014, and its itineraries up to mid-April 2015. The cruising line is the early bird of the flock luxury liners, being the first to unveil its itineraries for that time frame so far in advance. There are new seven- and 10-day cruises available in 2014. There are 16 maiden calls among the 194 total ports that span 68 countries. "As a leader in luxury vacation experiences, we are constantly pushing ourselves to find new ways to show the world to savvy travelers," said Crystal's Jack Anderson, senior VP of marketing and sales at Crystal, in a prepared statement for the media. ss Rotterdam has been the flagship of Holland America since 1959, eventually finding a permanent port in Katendrecht in the Rotterdam harbor. After completing a full restoration in December 2009, the iconic ship reopened in February 2010 as a floating hotel at sea. On October 1, 2012, Worldhotels, a brand containing a portfolio of 500 handpicked properties around the world, added the ss Rotterdam to its exclusive list. The 780-foot vessel features 254 contemporary guest rooms with working desks, flat-screen TVs, Internet access and air conditioning. Falkland Islands the Latest Cruise Destination for Luxury Ships

Luxury cruise ships have been broadening their port of calls lately, no longer merely floating down the Mediterranean or sailing around the Bahamas. The Falkland Islands, located in the South Atlantic Ocean about 300 miles off the coast of Argentina, have become the newest destination hitting 2012/13 season itineraries. October 6 saw the first visit to the Islands by cruise ship Ushuaia which brought 84 guests to the capital of Stanley. Other vessels including Regatta (Prestige Cruises), Ocean Diamond (Quark), and Arcadia (P&O), Polar Pioneer and Ocean Nova will also be heading there later this month.
