Marc by Marc Jacobs Men's Collection Rocks the Fifties for Fall

Feb 22, 2013  |   Contributor: Tina Stewart

As a designer, Marc Jacobs is known for imitating the street style of the cool kids. Previously borrowing elements of grunge and punk for his designs, Jacobs is at it again with his Fall luxury menswear collection for 2013. Reaching back through time to the 1950's, the men's clothing for Marc by Marc Jacobs might remind some onlookers of their younger days, when they sifted through racks of tuxedo pants, windbreakers, rockabilly blazers, and the patterned suits. Although not groundbreaking, the collection does take us back to a style that was revolutionary in its day.... Read More

Channel Your Inner Jay Gatsby in Designs by Robert Talbott

Feb 19, 2013  |   Contributor: Annalisa Solari

Ever since Mr. F. Scott Fitzgerald created the legendary character Jay Gatsby, his casual cool sophistication and style has been something that men covet and women swoon over. Not surprisingly, the eternally dapper Robert Redford played the role of Gatsby in the movie rendition in the 1970’s and the remake scheduled to hit theaters this summer will star hunky heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio. It is not good looks alone that make these men so desirable, as they both display an extra edge and masculine charm that has set them above the rest. The same can be said for the luxury collection by Robert Talbott inspired by The Great Gatsby.... Read More

Fashion for the Modern-Day Vigilante by Gilded Age

Feb 18, 2013  |   Contributor: Annalisa Solari

Elements of extreme roller skating, '90s grunge, and the notorious band of bikers in Hell's Angels can all be found in Gilded Age's men's collection for fall. The runway show appropriately took place at Chez André, an underground karaoke club in the Bowery neighborhood of New York City. This neon pink-infused environment combines rock 'n' roll, fashion, and a twinge of destruction— making it the ideal stage for luxury designer Stefan Miljanic's latest collection.... Read More

EDUN Goes Dark for Fall Menswear Collection

Feb 14, 2013  |   Contributor: Annalisa Solari

Described as a “cocktail" collection (and if that’s the case, we will gladly take a drink) by designers Sharon Wauchob and Ricky Hendry of luxury brand EDUN, the label's Fall 2013 collection drew inspiration from a variety of different subcultures, including mod, biker and grunge looks. By depicting a range of different scenes and eras, the designs are surprisingly cohesive and ensembles were strikingly put together at the New York Fashion Week runway show.... Read More

Feb 8, 2013  |   Contributor: Tina Stewart

Fans know what to expect from avant-garde fashion house Maison Martin Margiela — the unexpected. However, the luxury brand has proven to endorse a few recurring themes for its collections over the years, such as deconstruction, recycled fabrics, and strong tailoring.
