Resort Review: I recently had the pleasure of visiting the La Costa Resort and Spa — a destination idyllically situated in sunny Carlsbad, California that's revered for its well-appointed accommodations, world-class spa, fine dining and, of course, its two PGA-championship golf courses. Having heard much about La Costa prior to my stay, I checked in with admittedly high expectations. Suffice it to say the experience did not disappoint.... Read More
Luxury Resorts: This is among the best places in the world for snorkeling and diving. Behold, the enchanting Misool Eco Resort, which is located on a private island in Southern Raja Ampat. This eco-friendly resort is as secluded and exotic as it is ecologically sound and luxurious.
The privately owned island of Batbitim is surrounded by 400 kilometers of sea that is an enforced no-take zone. The entire resort is made from island driftwood. There are eight aboveground suites that stand on stilts above the tranquil waters.... Read More

Resort Review: We have now visited The Point, the highest rated property in the
United States twice. Once in summer and once in winter, the problem lies in deciding which season was the best.
This luxurious former Great Camp of William Avery Rockefeller, located deep in the pine woods along the shores of Upper Saranac Lake in New York state, welcomes guests during all four seasons to what feels like a private house party, pampering you unashamedly until you say to yourself at the end of your stay, “So THAT’S what it’s like to be one of the 19th Century magnates!”... Resort Review: The 44-acre balmy plot of paradise on San Diego's Mission Bay, also known as the Paradise Point Resort and Spa, has never looked so alluring. Now flaunting a $20 million renovation, the resort has upped the meaning of "paradise" with 462 lushly upgraded bungalow-style guestrooms and stunning meeting facilities. Sailboats and sea birds lazily crossed our view during the afternoon, while the sun finished the day with a dip into the horizon. A quick stroll along the grounds led my travel companion and I to the resort's charming 18-hole mini golf course, which was meticulously landscaped and provided us with bouts of laughter. (We ti... The Best Spas: Who doesn’t love a great massage? Or a facial? Or just a gentle rubdown with a velvet glove, for that matter. On Maui, I (lucky me!) got to experience a wealth of wonderful treatments that are everything to write home about. Here’s the ultimate shakedown.
Let me put it this way: I entered as D-lister Kathy Griffin, channeled my inner Angelina, and exited on the A-list. And that’s pretty much what you should expect at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua’s Waihua Spa, with its warm, welcoming ambience. Here, I experienced the signature Kapalua Castaway ($225 for 80 minutes, plus 20% gratuity), which is ideal if you’re seeking the ... Read More
