Breaking Bad & Sherlock Sweep the Emmys, Plus More Surprising Moments!

Aug 26, 2014  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

Last night's Emmys saw some surprising losses (two words: True Detective) and some not so surprising wins (we all knew Breaking Bad would get some love after its final season, but who guessed Sherlock would be the biggest winner? The news of his death has rolled across the world rapidly, popping up on every news outlet and text message, and it's one that no one was prepared for. The 63-year-old lifted us up and made us all lighter the more we laughed, and the thought that he was weighed down with his own sadness breaks our hearts. From granting our wishes and encouraging the poet within us to taking us through the afterlife and being the best fake British nanny ever, Williams did everything with the same childlike glee that he brought to Hook. He was insane in the best of ways and he'll be missed.  ... Read More

Tales From an Alley: Indie Rock Band The Tontons Talk Self-Releasing & Weary Life On the Road

Aug 7, 2014  |   Contributor: Mila Pantovich

Houston-based indie rock band The Tontons had already been on the road for two months straight by the time we got to them behind Soda Bar in San Diego. With their road-weary tour van stuffed full of blankets and pillows beside us in the alley as a reminder of their exhaustion, they took some time to chat about their unique sound, the pressure and perks of self-releasing, and what life is like on the road. ...
