Breguet's Tourbillon Watch Exhibit Celebrates Cenutries of Horological History

Legendary horologist and founder of luxury watch company Breguet, Abraham-Louis Breguet made timekeeping history in 1801 with the invention of a much-needed, but highly complex watch mechanism. Seeing the adverse effect gravity had on reliable timekeeping, he created the tourbillon— an escapement housed within a mobile carriage that performs a complete rotation every couple of minutes. Basically, the regular repetition of the tourbillon’s variations offsets those made by gravity. Tiffany & Co. Renews Iconic Partnership With Elsa Peretti

Lovers of the classic open heart and bean pendants that are signifiers of the luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. need not worry about earlier rumors that their designer, Elsa Peretti, will be ending her 38-year collaboration with the brand. After Tiffany initially said in May that the 72-year-old designer had expressed interest in "retiring" from their relationship, the two parties have solidified their continuing partnership by signing a deal that will earn Peretti $47.3 million over 20 years.
