20th Anniversary in Palm Springs

We recently celebrated our 20th anniversary at the Hyatt Grand Champions Hotel in Palm Springs, CA.

Our trip started with my husband surprising me with a new wedding ring as I had lost my first set years ago. I had no idea he was getting me the ring which is unusual because I always know if he's going to get me a gift and what it is. It is beautiful. . .our trip was off to a wonderful beginning.

We flew first class to Palm Springs, the flight was so relaxing with no fighting children, no interruptions from my husbands work, none of the daily stressors we all endure.  Just Mimosas and adult conversation.

A short time later we landed at our destination and took the 5 mile drive to Hyatt Grand Champions Hotel where we stayed in a King Suite on the Regency Level.  Neither of us could wait to get out to the Adults Only Pool.  We barely unpacked and prepared to go lounge by the pool and drink the best strawberry margaritas you've ever tasted, served poolside.

The rest of our time there was spent with my husband golfing every morning while I strolled the grounds or took advantage of the time to sleep in uninnterupted.  I even treated myself to a day at the luxurious onsite spa.  When we weren't by the pool in the afternoons we spent our days exploring Palm Springs and always enjoyed late dinners at restaurants with beautiful patios.  We live in Washington State and both of us love the sun, even when it's 116 degrees!

Evenings consisted of relaxing in lounges listening to live music, leisurely walks together and more time at the pool.  It was fabulous gazing up at the night sky, I felt like I could almost reach out and touch the stars they were so bright.

Alas, our relaxing, quiet vacation came to an end as all good things do and we drove back to the airport in contented silence.  Once we boarded the plane we looked at our pictures on the computer picked out our favorites and flew the rest of the way home holding hands.  We were a little sad our quiet time was coming to an end but at the same time we both couldn't wait to see the kids-their fighting and all!!
