Destination Style

For most of us, exotic and luxurious vacations happen just a couple times a year. But if you’re like me, you wish you could spend the majority of your time exploring the world’s most stunning and gorgeous travel destinations year round. That’s certainly something to work towards, but in the meantime you can draw a bit of style inspiration from your favorite lavish places on the planet.

1. The Côte d'Azur

The French Riviera has long been a favorite playground of the rich and fabulous, and it’s easy to see why. From Saint-Tropez to Nice, Cannes to Monaco, this Mediterranean gem is jam packed with beautiful landscapes and beautiful people alike.

The jet set come from all over to bask in the sun, relax on yachts and simply to see and be seen in one of the most fashionable vacation spots in the world. The uber stylish crowd, however, mellows out in the Côte d'Azur.

To capture the spirit of the place, go for effortless beach chic with a touch of timelessly elegant French style. Light, airy, easy and classic, your French Riviera outfit should be one your grandmother might have worn on a fancy beach vacation.

2. The Maldives

Located in the Indian Ocean southwest of Sri Lanka, this miniscule island nation is one of the most beautiful and exclusive vacation spots in the world. If you close your eyes and picture the most ideal version of secluded, paradise-like, pristine beaches you can imagine, you’ve probably got a pretty clear idea of what The Maldives are like.

It helps that the islands are overflowing with super luxurious resorts that specifically cater to the most discerning guests looking for top notch service and amazing amenities.

To channel the island vibe of this tropical haven, go for dreamy, flowing looks in vibrant colors. A good Maldives-inspired outfit could take you from an elegant restaurant with a view to a stroll on a white sand beach.

If you’re craving a jaunt to a far and fabulous place but still have a couple months to wait until your next vacation, let your clothes express your international attitude while you count down the days till departure.

3. Ibiza

Known the world over for being a decadent party destination, Ibiza is the place to go when you’re looking to truly let loose on vacation. This picturesque Spanish island is more than just a 24-hour party though – there’s plenty more to see and do, including beautiful ancient churches, medieval architecture, natural salt flats, underground caves, open-air markets, and more.

Unlike your standard seaside destination, this island isn’t just about lounging in the sand with a piña colada in hand. The very active social scene means that after a snooze on the beach, you ought to be ready for some action.

To get the Ibiza look, tap into your inner hippie child for a boho-chic beachy vibe with an edge. Your outfit should be dance-floor ready while still maintaining that chilled-out, bohemian feel the island is known for.

4. Santorini

This idyllic Greek island is almost otherworldly in its beauty. The stark, whitewashed structures with brilliant blue details are set against black, volcanic sand beaches and lapis seas, making Santorini one of our all-time favorite vacation destinations.

During the day, visitors wander the tiny charming streets, relax on the beach or visit fascinating archeological sites, which some say is proof that Santorini is what remains of the lost civilization of Atlantis. As the day dwindles, many find their way to Oia, one of the best places on the island to take in magnificent sunsets.

When you wish you could be spending your twilight hours on the Aegean Sea, slip into a simple white dress, then add vibrant pops of color, a pair of understated leather gladiator sandals and find the nearest authentic Greek restaurant. It’s no substitute for an Oia sunset, but it may just be enough to tide you over until you can make it to Santorini.
