Yeezy Season 3

In between sold out shows and building a family, Kanye West has spent the past few years building a name for himself in the fashion industry through his collaboration with Adidas. This year, he's taking advantage of NYFW to simultaneously debut Yeezy Season 3 and his new album, Waves. Never one to do anything small-scale, West selected Madison Square Garden as a venue (and sold it out in 10 minutes). Check out West's Twitter for more details of the collection.

Puma by Rihanna

Rihanna debuted her first collaboration with Puma in September of last year, and followed it up with an appearance at NYFW . While the details have been hush-hush, she first teased the event by putting a pair of VIP tickets up on auction site Paddle8 in support of the Clara Lionel Foundation, promising the winner backstage access, pre-show styling, access to the afterparty, and every piece from the collection (bidding was last seen at a modest $15,000).

Rosie Assoulin

Fresh off her 2015 CFDA Swarovski Award for Women's Wear win, Rosie Assoulin is one of the top designers to watch at this year's fashion week. Recently, the designer made headlines when Kristen Wiig attended the premiere of Zoolander 2 in Berlin wearing her rainbow Swarovski crystal gown.

Erykah Badu is Styling Pyer Moss

Singer-songwriter Erykah Badu will be adding "stylist" to her already impressive resume. Having opened last season's New York Fashion Week with an hour long set, this season she'll be assisting designer Kerby Jean-Raymond in styling his label Pyer Moss' A/W 2016 show. Both Badu and Jean-Raymond have been outspoken in recent years regarding racism and police brutality, and Badu has gone on the record to declare this a "match made in fashion heaven," noting their shared "eye for truth through art." This show, with its high profile collaboration and potential for controversy, is worth keeping an eye on.

Go Red for Women Fights Heart Disease

The American Heart Association aims to raise awareness for heart disease. The collection features contributions from 20 top designers including Badgley Mischka and Nicole Miller as well as appearances from Vanna White, Empire's Serayah, and Miss Universe 2016. This event was a bit more accessible to all, with a livestream available on the goredforwomen.org website.
