Different Teas

Tea has long been a popular drink within Great Britain and across the globe, however as the world makes a conscious effort to be healthier – our taste for tea is changing slightly.

Green tea has been hailed in every corner of the world for its great health benefits and high number of antioxidants, causing more and more brits to switch one of their breakfast teas, for a fresh cup of green.

But there are many other ways to enjoy the healthy tea leaves – without swapping any of your builder’s brews. Alongside the growth in popularity for speciality teas, the idea of cooking with tea has become more and more common – but what is good with green tea?

For a fresh twist to an adult tipple, why not make your own green tea infused mojitos? - The already refreshing summer favourite is taken to new dimensions. With summer well on its way it is the perfect time to embrace your inner mixologist and invite over your friends for a tasting session – you could even try it with different teas, such a pu-erh or rooibos.

If you’re feeling more indulgent, matcha tea and white chocolate cookies are a great healthy, but naughty snack that you can enjoy with your tea in the morning. Matcha tea is a fine green tea powder that has traditionally been used in the Japanese tea ceremony. The ceremony focuses on the preparation and presentation of the tea and is greatly influenced by Zen Buddhism.

Whilst matcha tea and white chocolate chip cookies might be a long way from traditional ceremonies, the tea has a unique and delicious taste as well as all of the health benefits of regular green tea. When finding a matcha tea, be sure to choose the best quality possible – the greater the tea, the better the taste.

The internet is alive with healthy green and matcha tea recipes, so there is no excuse not to reap in the health benefits and get experimenting in the kitchen!
