Holiday Sales Expected to Rise over the Next Five Years, So Test Your Limits with a Fun Adventure Vacation This Yea

The sun is starting to shine after the darkness of winter and people are giving serious thought to summer holiday bookings for 2014. It is easy to become stuck in a rut and go back to the same old hotel and same old destination year after year. If this sounds like you, 2014 is the year to change old habits and get into new ones! There are so many different kinds of exciting adventures just waiting to be had, that the biggest problem may be deciding what type of holiday to pick. Activity holidays have become increasingly popular in recent years as they help people relax and have fun at the same time.

Indeed, recent figures show that the number of holidays that people are taking per year is on the rise. This can only be good news for the economy as it suggests that fears about the recession are fading a bit in the UK. Mintel’s annual UK Holiday Review has forecast that there will be a steady year on year growth in sales of holidays over the next five years. Over 100 million holidays will be taken at both home and abroad by UK travellers in 2017. This is compared to 94 million holidays which were taken during 2013.

Should I book independently or through a tour provider?

When booking a holiday there are two main choices. You can book every single leg of the journey and vacation by yourself. This can involve negotiating with several foreign hotels and activity providers who may not necessarily be able to speak English 100 per cent fluently. You will also have to deal with travel taxes, transport fares, and food costs. Whilst this does leave you will ultimate control over your holiday, worrying about where you are going to sleep at night does not always provide the most relaxing atmosphere.

On the other hand, booking through a tour package company who has been there, seen and done it all before can be a welcome contrast. Working with experts to devise and book your dream holiday takes all the stress out your own hands so that you can concentrate on having as much fun as possible instead. The knowledge that you aren’t going to get hit by any unexpected charges means that there is one less thing to worry about instead.

What type of activities can you do on activity holidays?

Quite simply, the world is your oyster when it comes to choosing what type of activities you want to do on a specially booked holiday. No matter whether you want to go white water rafting down the rapids, or testing out your fear of heights by rock climbing in the mountains, there is an activity to suit every age and level of fitness.

One of the nice things about booking a vacation with an established tour provider is the fact that you know all the instructors will be properly qualified. This can become very important when you are in a dangerous situation!
