Whether you're a fan of rock, hip-hop, pop or all of the above, MTV's Video Music Awards, better known as the VMAs, is the ultimate award show for music fans. More importantly, this could be the year that you finally get MTV Video Music Award show tickets, see the action live and make your friends jealous. There are so many reasons why this is everyone's favorite award show. There are great performances, fabulous red carpet entrances and appearances from musicians and singers in every genre, or maybe you're just into Moonmen and Australians?

Everyone's heard of the British invasion, but in the 21st century, it's the down-under countries of New Zealand and Australia that are making a big splash on the music scene. However, Beyonce is still the queen of pop with eight individual nominations, including a chance to snag a Moonman for video of the Year. She also claimed nominations, including Best Female Video, Best Collaboration for "Drunk in Love" with hubby Jay Z, Best Video with a Social Message and four technical nods.

Eminem also topped the list of nominees, but there are plenty of new faces close behind. Namely the Australian-cum-American rapper Ms. Iggy Azalea who earned seven nominations and Tweeted her delight over the achievement. "Fancy" featuring British-Indian singer Charli XCX earned Iggy nods for Video of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and a chance to snag a technical Best Art Direction award. "Problem," her duet with Ariana Grande, was also a triple threat, claiming nominations in Best Pop, Best Female and Best Collaboration categories.

Azalea might not endorse her, but teen sensation Lorde scored two nominations for her hit "Royals." She's up against Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons, The Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys in the Best Rock Video category where's she's the only girl and the only solo artist. Things are a bit different in the Female Video category though.

Another Australian invader is the pop/punk group 5 Seconds of Summer, better known as 5SOS. The band earned an "Artist to Watch" nod along with newcomers Sam Smith, Charli XCX, Fifth Harmony and Schoolboy Q. Even bigger is the news that 5SOS will be taking the VMA stage by storm on Sunday, August 24th. The room will also be rocked by Usher and newcomer Ariana Grande, who is making her first VMA appearance.

But wait, there's more good news. For 2014, the VMAs are returning to their homeland of California. What a relief after last year's fiasco in Brooklyn. The bad news is that Miley Cyrus will be there since "Wrecking Ball" has a chance to claim a Best Video trophy. We hope not, but we do hope that you get your Video Music Award show tickets now while they're still available through www.thevipconcierge.com.
