Barcelona Restaurant Week: Gourmet Dining at Affordable Prices

 BARCELONA, SPAIN, (April 12th 2012) – From the 13th of April until the 22nd, the city of Barcelona will be hosting its 3rd addition of Barcelona Restaurant Week. This successful initiative, which links gastronomy with social responsibility, will be donating 1 euro of every meal to the NGO’s: the Spanish Heart Foundation and the ONCE Guide Dog Foundation.

 This year, 34 top restaurants will be participating in the event. Among them are former supporters including Casa Fuster’sGalaxó ,Windsor, Alba Paris, Torre d'Alta Mar, Icho, Alba Granados, La Terraza deClaris, Quo Vadis, Cent Onze and Jardinets de Gràcia. Some new additions include Visual, Comiols, Murmur, Loidi, Petit Committee, Osmosis, Caesar Pastor, and 4 Capellans, amongst others.All menus (lunch or dinner) will be priced at 25 euros per person excluding beverages. The week-long event aims to achieve two objectives: to bring fine dining opportunities to those individuals who would otherwise not have the means to dine at these establishments and raise funds for charity. 

 Proceeds for the Spanish Heart Foundation will be dedicated to promoting research and the development of cardiovascular disease prevention campaigns. For its part, the ONCE Guide Dog Foundation use their proceeds to promote the incorporation of restaurant menus in Braille, as well as ways to facilitate the entry of guide dogs in pubs. During the two previous editions, more than 15,000 Euros were donated to the sponsoring charities.
