The American Museum of Natural History in New York City’s Central Park is currently home to an enlightening display of creatures that light up. Explanations for this intriguing biological aspect make this enchanting exhibit, ending in January of 2013, beautiful, interesting and educational.

Creatures of Light will introduce visitors to the astonishing variety of bioluminescent creatures; explore the different ways in which organisms glow, as well as explain the physics and chemistry of natural light; reveal how the ability to glow can be advantageous; and consider how scientists study—and use—bioluminescence.
