Cadillac and Lincoln Have High Hopes

Considering behemoth car manufacturers like Cadillac and Lincoln (GM and Ford) believe that the American market is going to turn around soon, we should probably be optimistic about the future of the country’s economy. And, if it doesn’t turn around, we can do like them and each try to break into China’s economy.

 

It’s been so long since Cadillac and Lincoln were luxury-market leaders in the United States that it strains credulity to think they could become really relevant again to segment leadership. But each brand these days is beating the drums about its prospects for revival in the American market.

And if that doesn’t work out, there’s always China, which already is a larger auto market than the U.S. anyway. It may be a harbinger that the Matthew McConaughey flick, The Lincoln Lawyer, has just opened in Beijing. Read More
