According to New York Daily News’ Nate Freeman, model Nick Gruber plans to write a “tell-all” book about his rollercoaster two-year relationship with designer, Calvin Klein. The news has taken the fashion and publishing world by storm, being a catalyst to a bidding war over the potential publisher for the manuscript. The book is tentatively titled, “What Came Between Me and My Calvin.” Reportedly there are two solid offers with a third proposition in the works.
The 24 year-old Gruber plans to retell every juicy detail and has partnered with a famous author who is staying anonymous at this time, but calling the content of the book, “beyond shocking.”
Klein at age 69 began dating the model while he was just 20 years-old in 2010 and they reportedly split after Gruber had a run in with the law and was arrested for assault and cocaine possession. After which, Klein funded his trip to rehab.
The mystery author comments: “This is the only way he can get closure,” he said of Gruber. “He has a lot of secrets about Calvin and he has the right to tell people.”
We aren’t sure if we are in agreement with the above statement; looks like Gruber has his right to dish out gossip and then cash in from his former romance. Unstable? On drugs? Low-blow or last resort to keep his name in the spotlight? Possibly.
“If it was just [Gruber’s] story, then there’s no way we could sell the thing, but because it’s about his relationship with this very private, very high-profile person, it’s generating a lot of interest,” said the writer.
According to Gruber’s Facebook he wants to: “forget about the past” and “move forward.” But by releasing an intimate book noting every dirty detail of a past relationship doesn’t seem the appropriate way to let go. Hopefully for Klein it only means more sales and not a messy lawsuit.
