For those who are familiar with Chef Justin Quek, they know of his amazing abilities in the kitchen. The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is excited to have Chef Justin grace their kitchens once again this July. This limited engagement will allow Chef Justin to showcase an amazing menu, and for those fortunate enough to be present, they will have the privilege of experiencing this exploration of the senses.

Chef Justin began his career at this same property in 1986, working under Chef Norbert Kostner. This classically trained chef has also worked in some of France's most acclaimed kitchens and was appointed the personal chef at the French Embassy in Singapore in 1992. Chef Justin spent 2004 until 2009 being very involved with a variety of restaurant ventures in Singapore, Shanghai and Taipei; before opening his masterpiece in 2010. Sky On 57 at Marina Bay Sands features his signature modern Asian cuisine, combined with his warm and welcoming personality- seemingly a winning combination for this restaurant so far.

Growing up with eleven siblings and having to work hard to follow his passion of cooking, including a period of time as the cook on a merchant ship, Chef Justin seems very comfortable being Singapore's top celebrity chef. Having started with such humble beginnings, he now appreciates and savors his success, and understands that this is a direct result of his hard work. His passion and love for what he does is seen and tasted in every dish carefully developed and prepared for his guests. For the week of July 8-13, 2013, Chef Justin will be working in the kitchen of Lord Jim's to create these sensational menus filled with exotic ingredients and aromatic flavors.

During this week, Chef Justin will be offering the Prestige Five Tasting Menu, which begins with several delicate seafood selections, followed by an amazing presentation of Australian Wagyu Beef Sirloin and Maine Lobster. The Tasting Menu includes a fine collection of French wine selections and end with the finale of Chef Justin's Chocolate Sensation and Signature Apple Tart. For those wanting to experience additional dishes, they will also offer an A La Carte menu with a selection of starters, main courses and his signature desserts. The third menu option for this limited engagement is Chef Justin's inventive Wine Dinner that he's created specially for this week.

This Singaporean modernist chef has redefined contemporary French cuisine, as we know it today. Having achieved so much success in his career since starting with this property over twenty-five years ago, The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is thrilled to have Chef Justin serving the restaurant's honored guests this July. Regardless of location, I hope you will also have an opportunity to experience the talents of Chef Justin Quek.
