Turkish designer Cengiz Abazoglu made his case toward becoming a premier designer in America at the Emmys last weekend when Cheryl Burke wore his dress. Burke wore the dress to West Hollywood's Trousdale for a pre-party event she hosted with Derek Hough.
Cengiz Abazoglu started his career as a designer for a belgium based leather-ware company. After successful collections, he began his freelance collections for several ready-to-wear brands, he then established his own atelier and presented his first haute couture collection at Istanbul Vizon show in 1991. From 1991 to 2004 he showed every year his haute couture collections and many of them in favour of foundations like “Children of Our Future”, “Handicaped Children” both working to help children in need,”Kidney Foundation” funding new dializ centers in hospitals for people with kidney disorders. In 2009 he made his debut with his summer collection at Paris Haute Couture Week. Since then he shows the couture collections in Paris and pret-a-porter collections in Istanbul.
