Sony Mobile is reporting that a few hundred of their customers’ accounts have been hacked, which makes this the third time in less than two years that the electronics manufacturer has been the target of online hackers.
Sony announced that roughly 400 Chinese and Taiwanese customers had their accounts hacked. According to Nikkei, the attack is believed to be the work of individuals loosely associated with the Anonymous "hacktivist" group. The hackers released a statement saying that they were able to access customer information from Sony's mobile phone division through a third-party data management firm. Continue Reading
