Consumers may be clamouring to book villas in Italy

UK consumers may be eager to book holiday villas in Italy. The Mediterranean country has long proved popular among vacationing Britons and it is not hard to see why. It is easy to get to by plane or by ferry and either car or coach and it has a lot to offer. As well as stunning scenery, tasty food and drink and lots of superb shops, Italy is steeped in history and has a rich culture.

Meanwhile, Brits have been showing their desire to head off on foreign adventures over recent months.

According to research conducted by the travel association ABTA, UK consumers took an average of 3.51 holidays in 2012. Also, almost one in five (19 per cent) of the individuals polled said they consider trips away to be a necessity they cannot do without.

Vacations came out on top of the list of purchases consumers would be most unwilling to cut back on, with many people preferring to reduce their spending on other leisure activities, new electronic gadgets, home improvement and eating out instead.

ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “It appears many Brits are determined not to give up their annual holiday. Many people consider their annual holiday a necessity, not a luxury and given the choice they would rather make sacrifices in other parts of their lives than pass up on their holidays.”

These days, it is easy for consumers to book villas in Italy and as long as they know where to look, they can benefit from excellent deals.
