Davio's Foxboro is the Perfect Stop Before or After a Patriots Game

Davio's

Now that the summer is officially over here in Boston, all eyes are now focused on the Patriots and the start of football season. To kick things off right, we suggest heading out to Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse located at Patriot Place in Foxboro. Whether you come here for a pre-game dinner or stop by for a cocktail after the game, this is the place to be this season.

In the warmer months, there is an outdoor patio for some great people watching. During the cooler months, head inside and request a table near the window. Our friendly server Brittany got us started with a vodka martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and a Davio’s Doli made with deliciously fruity pineapple infused vodka. Try not to fill up too much on the addicting basket of bread, which is a difficult feat served with hummus and olives.

We ordered the calamari appetizer, one of the best we have tried, overflowing with giant pillowy rings of tender calamari lightly fried with panko bread crumbs. Davio’s is well known for its spring rolls that take the form of chicken parmesan, Philly cheesesteak, buffalo chicken and shrimp cotija.

Moving right along, we got down to the real reason why we were here – the steaks. The massive 24-ounce bone-in ribeye was cooked to our medium rare liking and was so tender and juicy, we could almost cut it with a butter knife. The 18-ounce porterhouse veal chop was full of flavor and tasted even better with sides of Brussels sprouts and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Be sure to pair it all up with a nice bottle of red from their impressive wine selection (we prefer the 2010 Silverado Cabernet).

If you do save room for dessert, the key lime cheesecake is large enough to share between two guests and provides the perfect ending to a great dining experience.

Davio’s is located at 236 Patriot Place in Foxboro, Mass. For more information, call (508) 339-4810 or visit them online at www.davios.com.
