Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley

Dan and Margaret Duckhorn started Duckhorn Vineyards in Napa Valley in 1976 and have since become one of the top producers of Bordeaux varietal wines in the country. Drawn to Merlot while traveling in France in the 80s, they decided to create this wine as a premium varietal, something rarely done in the United States at the time. Renowned for their Cabernet Sauvignon as well, Duckhorn crafts their wines from seven different properties, each with grapes reflecting the unique terrain, soil and climate.

We highly recommend a private tour of their St. Helena winery then a select tasting featuring wines only available at the estate that are impeccably paired with local cheeses. The experience is sublime and it may just compel you, as it did us, to join the wine club and receive limited production wines and invites to their exclusive events held at their traditionally-designed Estate House and exquisite gardens.
