1.The Palm Forest at the area of Vai: It is located in Lassithi approximately 20 km away from the town of Sitia. There you will see the 'Cretan' palm. The certain area was named natural protected because of the existence of this variety of palm. One of the most beautiful beaches in Crete is the one called beach of Vai.
2.The port of Chania: It is a beautiful harbor having the buildings stand amphitheatrically around it. The blue colors of the sea amaze the visitor at first sight. Both the port and the lighthouse were build in 1356 by the Venetians who were settled in the island at this time. Around the harbor you will find some of the best restaurants, cafes and bars of the city! A lot of accommodation forms can also be found around the port, most of them old and traditional houses.
3.Agios Nikolaos (St.Nicolas) is a picturesque beautiful town, the capital of Lassithi in the North part of Crete. In the port a great variety of restaurants, cafes and bars are located, ready to satisfy even the most demanding visitor. One of the main attractions of the city is the Lake called Voulismeni which is connected to the sea by a canal . It is the ideal place for photo lovers.
4.Irakleio: It is the largest city in the island of Crete. The harbor is very picturesque, and so is the old town. Here you will find the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion and next to the town the well known archaeological site of Knossos. A visit not to be missed!
5. Cretaquarium. A visit to this marine park is definitely an opportunity to get closer to sea life and sea creatures. You'll find it just outside the city of Heraklion and it is worth a visit. It is highly recommended especially for families with children.
