On Tuesday Lisa Whelchel tweeted a recent diagnosis - she has contracted the West Nile virus. This makes her one of 4,000 Americans who've been infected this year. West Nile is spread by mosquitoes but the prognosis for recovery is typically very good. The disease has been in existance since the 1930s, but only has been in the existance in the US since 1999. On Tuesday, the newly single former Facts of Life star, 49, tweeted her diagnosis. "Dr. just called with blood test results...I have West Nile. Ugh. I'm fine, just tired. Takes a year to recover," she wrote. Read more.
