Freedom Bay St Lucia: Paradise in the Pitons

http://www.freedombaysaintluci

Dominated by the incredible volcanic formation that is the Pitons, the south-western region of St. Lucia that plays host to these brand new villas remains one of the Caribbean's hidden gems. It's the untouched beauty of the surroundings on this UNESCO heritage site that is likely to play a huge part in the popularity of this unique resort once it is completed.

Being operated by the award-winning Six Senses Resorts and Spas Group, the hotel's guests will all stay in one of 45 unique detached villas. These four-person or six-person villas can either be located within beach, garden or cliff surroundings; each offering incredible views of the mighty Piton mountains and the awe-inspiring Caribbean Sea.

The resort's location amongst these famous mountains and the glorious 11km long sandy strip populated by beautiful corals creates a beautiful sense of detachment from the rest of the world. With many nature reserves and well-maintained vegetation dotted around the region, it really is an enchanting natural habitat like no other.

Arrive in style

Guests are made to feel like royalty as soon as they touch down at the airport. A concierge will be waiting for guests in the arrivals lounge so they can whisk them away to Freedom Bay either by road or by sea. Would you a prefer a chauffeur-driven ride along the winding coastal roads or a power yacht journey bursting through the ocean? The choice is yours. Either way, the journey is likely to set the tone for the class that awaits.

The villas

Each of the villas incorporates the natural elements of the region, be it a glistening waterfall, palm trees, streams or stunning foliage. Whether you opt for beach, garden or cliff surroundings, the interior living areas are all masterpieces in designed superbly complimented by private pools and generous outdoor decking areas that redefine luxury. Each villa will allow easy access to the beach and the natural beauty that surrounds it, as well as private outdoor showers and  dining areas.

The hotel

The main hotel area might doesn't feature any guest rooms, but there is still room for an incredible selection of five-star facilities. Dine at a choice of three restaurants, relax by the cocktail bar, wine cellar, chocolatier or the ice-cream parlour. Whilst you're doing so, perhaps book a diving lesson, a game of tennis or a trip out to the private marine jetty.

The spa

The glorious surroundings could arguably be the world's most perfect location for a spa. The freedom bay spa is integrated into nature, so you could enjoy a massage by the cliffs, aerobics on the jetty or body treatments using the surrounding foliage. The treetop treatment suites appear to blur the boundaries between inside and outside. With aroma rooms, saunas and a fully-equipped fitness centre to experience as well, it could be impossible not to relax.

It is planed for the resort could open its doors in 2015, but the excitement surrounding it is building already. Earlier on this month, St Lucia was recognised as the 'Best Island in the Caribbean' by Global Traveler Magazine. With a resort like this a couple of years around the corner, the island's reputation as a world-class simply beautiful location looks only set to expand.
