Gabby Douglas Get Hollywood Glam $1000 Haircut
By: Allie Montgomery    |    Posted on September 26, 2012   |   0 Comments (2) (0)

Gabby Douglas is quite the spectacular young woman – she made history as the first African-American (and third U.S. gymnast ever) to win the all-around gold medal in the Olympic Games and has been given the nickname, “Flying Squirrel” for her outstanding performance on the uneven bars. But while the stunning American team has been in fashion headlines for their crystal adorned red leotards, 16-year old Douglas has been getting ragged on in social media and blogs for her “unkempt” hair. For which, we still don’t understand the harsh comments and judging mentalities of others. Umm, do you have a gold medal sweetie?

So to silence the critics, Douglas looked to stylist Ted Gibson for a champion-worthy hairstyle. Gibson is a celebrity hair stylist and has updated the do’s of Angelina Jolie, Ashley Green and Anne Hathaway, among other notable starlets. But the price of style comes with an a price tag; Gibson’s services run in the ballpark of $1000 a cut, so it has to be spectacular.

Gibson recently commented on the gymnast’s hair controversy: “I couldn’t believe it and still can’t,’’ he tells The Daily Beast. “You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful.”

Gibson made Douglas look even more like a star, but we believed she didn’t need a makeover to prove that.
