Great Looks for Spring Weddings in 2012

Great on-trend colours for wedding outfits this spring range from bright, bold summery shades of tangerine and navy blues into more muted pastel tones, such as soft pinks and greys. There are so many different choices, don’t feel limited by dresses alone.

Cat-suits and Rompers
In terms of wonderful, elegant wedding outfits for guests, cat-suits have gone from strength to strength throughout the winter, but really come into their own during spring. A cat-suit can be made surprisingly classy and smart with the addition of heels, a hat and a pashmina scarf. This outfit comes in so many styles and fabrics, ranging from simple summery cottons to wonderful silk numbers that transform fantastically into evening dress for the reception. Short playsuits are ideal for warmer days in late spring and short-sleeved and sleeveless rompers are ideal for changeable British springtime weather.

Shorts and Shirts
Don’t be scared of shorts! In recent trends, shorts have been defying their casual leanings. Wide-cut, tailored and ballooning, unstructured shorts are elegant, womanly and pretty. Combine with a simple pastel shirt or a pretty floral piece to put a different twist on a conventional outfit. High-waist shorts with a great belt and wedges are great for shorter women, whilst mid-length tailored shorts are chic for taller ladies.

Dresses
In terms of dresses, it’s all about colour this spring. For the mother of the bride, try a brave magenta or blue shade on a simple cotton shift dress and accessorize with statement jewellery and a wonderful hat. Add a glam, well-cut blazer jacket in the evening. Violet, in particular, is a bright but flattering colour. Don’t be shy. This is a proud day – reflect this with a mother of the bride outfit!

Trousers
Baggy, floating trousers in light fabrics are perfect for spring weddings. Often resembling maxi-skirts, long trousers with heels are effortlessly feminine and create totally on trend wedding outfits. Try a subtle polka-dot or floral and off-set this with a simple, single-toned blouse. Light trousers of this type provide a movement to outfits which is so spring-like and graceful.

Before picking up a conventional skirt and blouse, take a second to try different cuts. Think light, delicate fabrics, which are contrasted with interesting and unusual statement jewellery. Light fabrics, full of movement, are so great as they flatter all figures. Enjoy the day and look great whilst you celebrate the most stylish thing in life – love.
