Travel
High Life in Las Vegas

After Christmas and New Year we can develop the January blues. So my advice, start planning your luxury breaks now to give you the excitement you may need this month.

Las Vegas is known for high rollers, theatre and definitely drama, but is it a site where you can also relax, discover and reflect? The simple answer is yes, as long as you do your homework before hand. Here is a good place to start.

Luxury Hotels

There are hundreds of 5 star hotels nestled amongst the strip and further into the desert. Each hotel has it’s own personality and offers a wide variety of activities, casinos, theatres, and areas for reflection and pampering.

If you wish to enjoy the strip in style then why not book a city break at the Wynn Hotel.

Located right in the heart of Las Vegas, The Wynn boasts an impressive 111,000 square foot casino, 19 dining destinations offering a different pallet in each one and also an 18 hole golf course. Perfect for simply being at the heart of the city, this hotel also offers its guests the chance to discover and promote their passion for art in their state of the art Wynn Gallery, showcasing works from Van Gogh and Rembrandt and as described on their site, is the number 1 hotel for classic luxury.

If you decide to stay at the Wynn but wish to explore outside, the hotel organizes regular hot air balloon trips with free Champagne, this is the perfect way to view the city and desert. Or if you prefer your feet firmly on the ground, then why not take a trip to some of the hotels recommended malls and restaurants..

If classical, romantic luxury isn’t what you are looking for, then why not have a look at some of these 5 star modern hotels. The Bellagio is a must of course whilst the Mandarin Oriental is the optima of modern sustainable design! Whatever your needs from your hotel are, there is such a variety that there is luxury abound.

Activities that are not to be missed

If you have found the hotel for you then finding activities to do whilst in Las Vegas is certainly not difficult, but if you have had your fun at the casinos then why not have a look at these, off beat, alternatives;

An exotic car driving experience

Driving around a desert is not always a guests first thought, but if you love fast cars, adrenalin and have some time on your hands, then this is the activity for you. With a variety of supercars to choose from, including a Porsche, Ferrari and my personal favorite the Aston Martin Vantage, you will get the chance to drive your chosen car around the Las Vegas Speedway for a fixed number of laps.

Along with the actual driving, you can also book for more laps, one to one training and pick up and drop off from your hotel!

For another alternative more relaxing activity, an afternoon at the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at Bellagio is not to be missed. Take in the breath taking displays of rare flowers and created specially for the Bellagio, leading you through a wonderland of colors, sounds and stunning smells.

After your leisurely stroll around the gardens add in tea in one of the Bellagio’s many restaurants and you have got the perfect relaxing afternoon!
