If you haven’t invested in any pastel hues in time for spring/summer what are you waiting for? This is the hot trend for next season, inspired by the catwalk shows. But this can be a tricky trend to get right so follow these top tips to nailing the pastels trend.

1.       Stick to icy tones. This is the most important tip to follow if you want to stay looking chic this summer. These tones are more sophisticated and understated. Whereas the high street is full of sickly, candy colours which are much harder to pull off!

2.       Wear the clothes, don’t let them wear you. Work the pastels trend without looking like you’re following the crowd by mixing it up with some vintage clothing. This is a great way to ensure that no one else is wearing exactly the same outfit as you, and it enables you to show off your own style and personality. Try mixing some pastel jeans with a retro rock tee and some vintage accessories. Or pair a vintage pastel dress with some on-trend sport-luxe inspired accessories to nail two trends in one.

3.       Go one of two ways. There are two ways to wear the pastels trend. Be brave and wear pastels from head-to-toe. There are so many ways to do this, as pastels work really well in slightly different shades, or in different colours mixed together. If you prefer a much more subtle look, opt for pastel accessories and shoes, or invest in a pastel coloured blazer that you can throw on over your existing wardrobe.
