I want my 70 year old mother to go on a cruise. Do you have any suggestions for senior packages?

I would suggest any of the Viking River Cruises or the Norwegian Hurtigruten Cruises. I have been on both, and there are a lot of happy, senior couples who really enjoy all that these cruise lines have to offer.

Cruises are a great way to relax. Another gift you may want to consider is a journey through one's life in the form of an assisted autobiography. Fun, therapeutic and a lasting legacy. Please consider, on which my article is currently awaiting approval.

I agree with Nathan that river cruising is an exceptional way to voyage. If you are looking at an ocean cruise, consider some of the small luxury lines like Silversea, Windstar or Compagnie du Ponant. They have the advantage of getting to ports the larger liners can't.

I've just written an article on River cruising, I'm just awaiting its approval by the Just Luxe team. River Cruising is ideal for senior citizens, they are its main target audience. The beauty of it is that you are never far from the shore (compared to an ocean cruise) so the scenery is constantly changing. Going with a company like Viking River Cruises or AMA Waterways means you get decent luxury accommodation and food (and with less than 200 people on board, food is comparable to a high end restaurant, with locally sourced produce; unlike on an ocean cruise where it can be a bit like feeding an army). Have a look at which gives you a bit of an overview of what to expect.
