Walking through the Hotel Bel-Air's tropical gardens, I entered one of the most elegant retreats in Los Angeles. For years the Hotel Bel-Air Spa has offered luxuriously-appointed treatment rooms and serene outdoor spaces for its VIP guests and celebrity clientele.

Using some of the finest products in the world, the Spa has partnered with Swiss skincare expert Valmont, to help guests relax and feel rejuvenated while looking their best. With seven treatment rooms, there is even a couples enclave with a luxurious soaking tub and a private patio with a trickling water feature in a tranquil setting. Guests can visit the mosaic steam room and private marble rain showers before or after a treatment. Healthy refreshments are complimentary in the relaxation lounge.

Now the Spa has partnered with Valmont, one of the first luxury cosmetics companies providing products made with Switzerland’s pure natural resources, including glacial spring water and essential plant extracts grown in Valmont’s own conservatory in the Swiss Alps. In a controlled environment, Valmont grows eight different types of plants: rosehip, yellow dye, echinacea, mallow, marigold, nettle, white lupine and dill. All of these offer exceptional properties for skincare.

Valmont is now is celebrating its newest beauty line—Essence of Bees at the Spa. During a major launch of the new products, Cedric Roget the CEO of Valmont, CVL Cosmetics North America Inc., told a group of beauty influencers the benefits of bee products. “Inside every bee hive is honey, royal jelly and propolis,” said Roget. “Studies have shown that honey is a natural moisturizer that smooths skin, repairs damaged skin and helps with anti-aging.” He continued, “Propolis is known for its purifying virtues, and royal jelly helps decrease inflammation. It’s so healthy, it’s what the Queen Bee eats.”

Valmont’s L'Elixir des Glaciers campaign to give back to earth is by helping bees, flora and science. The first of three new standout products include Serum Majestueux, a nourishing, non greasy and lightweight eye serum to be worn daily. It’s an eye lift in a bottle that helps droopy eye lids. The serum stimulates the muscles above your eye to lift up. Results improve with a dab of eye cream after you apply the serum.

The Cure Majestueuse is a beneficial beauty oil to squeeze one drop on your face daily. It disappears quickly and provides the same omega 3 and omega 6 benefits as salmon, avocado and broccoli. “Those are your best friends to eat to help your skin stay healthy,” said Roget.

Masque Majestueux massage mask can be used up to three times a week. One of the spa aesthetician’s, Bettina, showed us how to massage this mask on your face and neck for two minutes. Leave it on for five minutes, and then massage it with water for another two minutes, before washing it off.

Roget showed off two products that will be auctioned. "The President of Valmont Didier Guillon, is an art aficionado and art director. He has commissioned two unique art pieces to compliment his Essence of Bees products," said Roget. "He designed about 100 limited-edition box sets featuring an 18-carat plated honeycomb container, inspired by the perfection inside beehives." The lacquered wood box comes with three vials of Cure Majestueuse.

The second artistically designed product by Guillon are beautiful Italian, blown-glass honey pots. Both will be auctioned off with proceeds going to Pollinator Partnerships, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of bees and their ecosystems. The organization helps beekeepers keep bees alive, and helps educate the community about the avoidance of pesticides.

For every Essence of Bees product sold at the Hotel Bel-Air Spa, Valmont will donate $10 to Pollinator Partnership. The products are also available at Saks Fifth Avenue and SPA Valmont at Hotel Plaza Athénée.

Before leaving Bel Air Hotel, aesthetician Tracey at the Spa offered a hand massage and discussed their signature butterfly-massage facials that help guests achieve noticeable anti-aging results. "The 90-minute signature Valmont Facial, Vitality of the Stars, is exclusive to Hotel Bel-Air Spa," she said. "It’s a full face, eye and neck treatment massage. The medical grade collagen mask delivers exceptional results for skin that feels brighter, tighter and clearer."

Another Valmont product treatment Elixir des Glaciers Ultimate Face and Body nourishes skin from head to toe. This is a good one to enjoy after checking into the hotel on Friday, so you will glow all weekend long.
