J. Crew?s Campaign Highlights Polished, Preppy Personalities

J.Crew launched its Fall 2012 campaign, but don’t expect to see household names on the model lineup for the photoshoot. No actors, no supermodels. No Kardashians, Mad Men or Middleton. Refreshingly, the classic label has opted to recruit various fashion-loving fresh faces to highlight their polished, always preppy look. Real people sporting real style. The ads are minimalistic yet have a fine-tuned attention to quirky detail in every shot and conclude with the tagline: “We know you’re out there.”

So who are these new models in J. Crew’s Fall Fashion lineup? Female faces include:  Alice Lane, makeup artist, and Angela Goding, assistant director of Museum Development, Caroline Issa, fashion director atTank Magazine,Linda Rodin, creator, RODIN olio lusso; Virginie Mouzat, deputy editor, Le Figaro; and Julia Sarr-Jamois, fashion editor, Wonderland Magazine.

On the masculine modeling side J. Crew snagged: Carlos Huber, architect and creator of Arquiste perfumes, Davidd Karp, Founder and CEO, Tumblr.com, Matthew Moneypenny, president and CEO, Trunk Archive; Joe Carlucci, contemporary art business director; and Spencer Lyons, field advocacy director American Cancer Society.

The real people have diverse backgrounds but are united in their love for fashion and those statement blazers. Be looking for the J. Crew campaign in glossies this month.
