Latest Trends in Women?s Going Out Tops ? Prints and Cuts for This Season

It’s nearly party time again and womens going out tops are hitting the shelves for the autumn and winter seasons. There are some new stylesto go with the standard classic – for example corset tops are back in again; and peplum has made another appearance. Also, thanks to the resurgence in teen and young adult interest in vampires, werewolves and all things ghostly, there’s a heck of a Gothic twist to a lot of it. Leather, lace, studs and glam crosses mix with frills and biker cuts to give some grunge to the season’s best!

Prints are swinging between high class retro – think Edwardian wallpaper and Victoriana – and punky, poppy retro 70s and 80s gear. Even the 90s has reared its special little head again, with those trends for sloppy jeans and jumpers in the day replaced by distinctly 90s look party clothes at night. That’s right – womens going out tops have decided to eschew this century and they’ve gone back to pick out all the good stuff from the good old days.

Edgy originality is the key – take your design cue from a much loved party period and give it a funky modern twist, usually with a nod towards the lace and drapes of the modern horror stories we’re digging so much in the cinema right now.

Bird prints and animal prints are good this season too. With the right colours – dusky pink with beautiful Victorian inspired bird prints makes for a very retro going out top indeed – womens going out tops are making a splash in all the right places.

What we’re seeing here is resurgence in the individuality of style. The thing that is more noticeable than ever with women’s clothes for the AW 12 season is that you can pick or choose your looks to suit your personality. From the 50s wow factor of Mad Men inspired two tone tops to the rock and Goth looks of shabby chic vest tops, there’s a personal style within the broader fashion framework for every party girl out there.

Within each style, there are colours and designs that are most definitely in. So if you want to rock that wide eyed American Splendor/Ghost Town look, all polka dots and big glasses, then you’re looking for womens going out tops with Peter Pan collars and two tone polka. Whereas if you’re more Twilight than Harv Pekar then you’re looking for stonewashed denim and loose fitting tank tops embroidered with sequinned crosses and Gothic imagery.

There’s still quite a thing going on for boyfriend fit clothes – particularly the boyfriend fit blouse, with retro prints. Teacup prints, skull and crossbones, you name it. Here, you can cross fashions, adding your own visual flavour to a universal cut.

This season looks like a good one for womens going out tops. With such a plethora of styles and cuts there really is the opportunity for every party girl to look her best, and more than that to look really individual.
