The Modern Biker Trend has been brewing for a couple of years and is definitely set to be a long term trend. The trend on women does not need to detract from your femininity; in fact it works perfectly with a dress, heels and bold lipstick.

You will find that the biker look does do is give the wearer a bit of edge, not a "don't you dare come and talk to me" kind of an edge, but a "there's more to me than you think" sort of an edge. It also does not mean that you need to go out and buy a motorcycle and helmet as the jacket and accessories do it all for you. This is a style that just reinvents itself every few years and never really goes away.

The Outfit
leather jackets are essential of course and with oversize trends around now you have the option of figure hugging or boyfriend style. The jacket is the biggest part of the look and it is perfect for autumn and winter when you need a bit of shelter from the falling temperatures and cold winds. Dark clothes are traditionally a key part of the trend, but with white everywhere, it is possible to combine the two to create a monochrome style. There is still the opportunity to throw a bit of bright colour in if you need to and you will find reds and purples work well. Skinny jeans and a figure hugging sweater, teamed with boots are one way to rock the look. Alternatively a figure hugging dress in a dark shade with a short or hip length jacket will draw attention to those womanly curves. A pencil skirt and shirt can also work well with this look and therefore make it a suitable outfit for everyday office life.

Accessories
There are a number of accessories you can team with the look. Firstly forget the notion that you can't wear sunglasses in autumn and winter. If the sun is shining you can, no matter how cold it is. Sunglasses are the perfect accessory for the biker look, big but not too big. Knee high or mid ankle boots look great, but ankle boots in dark suede colours work well too. Bold make up and nail varnish show you are in business with the biker look and being able to put on a richer shade of lipstick is also one of the best things about winter. This is not a look that works with oversize handbags (think about what would actually work on a motorbike) crossover bags or knapsacks are both practical and chic.
The modern biker trend has been spotted on a number of celebs this season including Kate Moss and Nicole Sherzinger. This modern version of the trend allows wearers to introduce a splash of white and also lets us keep wearing our favourite skinny jeans. Once you have the jacket you have the look for life, just be ready to reinvent it every couple of years as this classic style never really goes out of fashion!
