Royal College of Art, London College of Fashion and University of Westminster were the winners at the British Fashion Council’s Graduate Preview Day.
Students from 25 colleges around the UK presented their work ahead of Graduate Fashion Week to a panel which included Marios Schwab and experts from WGSN, Fashion Monitor and the BFC.
Whilst the London institutions came out top in the portfolio, presentation and fashion illustration awards, Salford University were given a special mention for their high standard of visual representation and styling.
Ann Tyrrell, Chair of the Colleges Council said: “The calibre of this year's portfolios has been excellent and demonstrates the breadth of talent of both the students and the colleges. The contacts the colleges gain from the day are extremely beneficial to their graduates and we’ve seen an incredible attendance here today, with representatives from Abercrombie & Fitch, Burberry, Alfred Dunhill, Harrods, Paul Costelloe, Matches, Max Mara and Topshop.”
University of Westminster will be showcasing their students work on the catwalks at Graduate Fashion Week next month.
