Michael Arndt to Write Star Wars' Third Trilogy

So there really couldn't be any more rumors floating around about the upcoming Star Wars trilogy since Disney purchased Lucasfilm, but the more we wade through the crap the closer we get to the delicious truth. In what looks to be the most valid rumor so far, Michael Arndt is going to be writing the film(s), which is okay by me as a lot of his work has been rather impressive to date.

 

"Star Wars" rumors have been flying fast and furiously since news broke that Disney, which just announced its purchase of George Lucas' brainchild Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion, would be releasing "Episode VII" in 2015. And now, word is that the film -- or rather, the next three "Star Wars" films -- has a writer.

Vulture reports that Oscar-winning writer Michael Arndt ("Toy Story 3," "Little Miss Sunshine," "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire") has penned a 40- to 50-page treatment for the film. And according to Deadline, the treatment is not just for "Episode VII" but for the next three movies. Read More
