As if we haven’t heard all the news we can handle out of London from the Olympic Games and the fabulous fashion to go with it, it seems we have another announcement from Great Britain brands. London Label, Dr. Marten’s recruited model Agyness Deyn to launch and promote a capsule collection for the retailer. Deyn has been a representative for the label for the past two years and her premier 29-piece collection has her collaborating for many of the designs and creative input. The new line takes inspiration from Deyn’s own grungy chic attire as well as signature style from icons in the‘90s.
“I love the style of some of the Nineties’ most famous couples, like Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder and Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis,” she told Vogue UK. “I love that grungy look, that freeness and real vintage vibe. I wanted the collection to look like someone had gone into a charity shop, like I did when I was a teenager, and come out dressed head-to-toe in what they’d bought. It’s a wear-it-all-together collection.”
Deyn’s collection incorporates all types of kicks from over-the-knee lace-up boots and velvet creepers to items in the apparel realm like a heart-shaped satchel bag, dresses and tops with daisy prints, tartan, acid green and tea hues as well as a statement-making reversible bomber jacket.
The dream of the 90s is alive and well at Dr. Marten.
