Powder Recon operates largely by word of mouth and is a company owned and run by skiers and snowboarders for skiers and snowboarders. They limit their numbers every season so as to provide a personal and unique service. Their head guide has 14 seasons in Japan and Myoko Kogen and has ridden over 200 ski resorts throughout Japan. They pride themselves on constantly finding the best lesser known ski areas with the best terrain and taking you there.
Powder Recon provides fully serviced packages and tours of Japans main island (Honshu). They specialise in Myoko Kogen and the surrounding ski areas as well as lesser known destinations such as Mt. Bandai, Zao and the Morioka ski area.
Taking you to resorts off the beaten track, not only makes for a more authentic Japanese ski experience but more importantly more fresh lines both on and off piste. The lack of western influence and obscure nature of many of their destination resorts means an abundance of wide open slopes and no lift lines. At several resorts where they have long standing relationships, their guides are able to take you into some of the best off piste riding and side country not open to the public.
