Dish at Plaza Midwood-- the country fried steak and cajun meatloaf are two of my favorite dishes. Speaking of cajun, the Cajun Yard Dog is delicious, as well. It is a first stop from the airport almost every time I have visitors coming to Charlotte for the first time.
The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center hosts many of the biggest shows and tours each season. Other venues to check out are Charlotte Theatre, Carolina Actors Studio Theatre, and Matthews Playhouse. Enjoy!
Ballantyne Village has some really great high-end shopping and dining. I love grabbing a cocktail at D'Vine Wine Cafe after an afternoon of browsing some of my favorite shops in the center.
First of all, the Gaslamp might not be THE BEST place to take kids (at least at night on the weekend or anything like that.) BUT the Spaghetti Factory is always a family winner. And of course there is Bucca de Bepo which is pretty much the same thing anyway!
