It is definitely worth a stop, if nothing else for the history and atmosphere! Also nearby lots of other great historic spots (Bar Hemingway at the Ritz is nearby, and Hotel Costes is a walk away for something more on trend), so a nice stop on an evening hop.
Agreed! There is always something delicious to eat in this melting pot of a city that never sleeps! NYC is one of my favorite food cities in the world.
I agree - I absolutely love this hotel, such a unique feel and a hip, yet comfortable setting in the hotel's common areas. Some additional points to note: some of the rooms even have in-room saunas, and the mini-bar is free (excl. alcohol), so enjoy the retro snacks on offer!

Hi C.Y. - thanks so much for the comment! I agree, that is one of the main reasons that I loved visiting the Flagler Museum so much - I just loved putting myself in Henry Flagler's shoes and imagining myself walking those halls during Whitehall's prime. I find that period houses are one of the best ways to learn about history and to really understand how people once lived!
I absolutely adore this hotel- in fact, it was the first luxury hotel that I stayed in as a child (my father would frequently travel from Boston to New York for business, and he would be put up in this hotel on occasion), and the rest (i.e., my lifetime love affair with hotels and my subsequent career choices) is history. While this hotel is great for kids, it is also a very special place for a romantic weekend in the City or a sophisticated shopping trip with the girls.
