Oldsmansc, I wonder if you're looking at the aft when you mention the landing digging into the waves? The prow of the Vaka (Middle) hull is much higher than the height of the Ama (outer) hulls...which is typical in trimarans... In the side view picture, the bow is pointing to the right...
