Protect Your Skin This Summer with Supergoop!

Supergoop!

Now that the sun is out in full blast, it’s time to take great care to ensure your skin is fully protected. When protecting your child from the sun’s dangerous rays, it can often be a challenge, especially as you send them off to school where sunscreens are prohibited from all public schools in America except the state of California.

In an effort to change state policies, Holly Thaggard, founder ofSupergoop!has launchedProject Backpack, an initiative to advocate change in state policies, allowing the use of sunscreen on school campuses. “The time to start incorporating SPF into your daily skincare regimen is during the school years.  This is a very important time to get these positive messages to children as it will influence health behaviors later in life,” said Holly Thaggard, Founder and CEO of Supergoop! in a recent statement.

Thaggard launched Project Backpack earlier this month as a means to influence a change in state policies, allowing the use of sunscreen on school campuses, while simultaneously providing sunscreen to schools across the United States. For every SPF 30 Everyday UV Lotion sold, Supergoop! will donate one backpack-sized sunscreen to one of its partner schools in the U.S.. This year, the goal is to provide sunscreen for 30,000 – 40,000 students (K – 12) in approved partner schools, starting in California.

Supergoop! is available at Nordstrom/Nordstrom.com, Sephora/Sephora.com, Barney’s/Barneys.com, Supergoop.com and independent retailers nationwide. For more information on Project Backpack, visit www.supergoop.com/projectbackpack.
