Retreat to Evason Ana Mandara in Vietnam

The Pool

Evason Ana Mandara

Designed to resemble a traditional Vietnamese village, Evason Ana Mandara in Nha Trang is a contemporary resort of 17 villas surrounded by tropical gardens and private white sand beach. It is located in Nha Trang, a seaside town in Vietnam, just about 35 minutes away from Cam Ranh Airport.

“Xin chao”

We reached Evason Ana Mandara at around 11pm on a very stormy night. Our hosts kindly escorted us through hotel’s spacious open-air lobby bar where we were offered refreshing welcome drinks and hot towels- a perfect combo after a long journey. We sat back in cosy armchairs by the bar and enjoyed our drinks listening to heavy raindrops landing on thatched roof. The serene atmosphere of the resort promised us unforgettable relaxing holidays and truly fulfilled its promise. In just few minutes, we were informed that our check-in was done and presented with a key to our Deluxe Beachfront Villa accompanied with a local handmade card that said “Xin Chao” meaning “Welcome”.

Deluxe Beachfront Villa

We stayed at the Deluxe Beachfront Villa- a spacious and beautifully decorated room with timber-beamed roof. The four-poster king size bed with a light mosquito net was placed in the center of the room. The net added a soft romantic touch to the room. Next to the bed, a beautiful dark wood writing table was placed, fully stocked up with stationary to fulfill anyone’s needs. The wardrobe located next to the entrance had a safety deposit box, straw beach bag for your use, soft white bathrobes for two, slippers as well as sun lotion and mosquito repellent which came in handy at night.

The bathroom was very spacious. Half of it was indoors and half outdoors creating a perfect balance. Two round sinks were surrounded by ceramic containers- each labeled according to its contents starting from fragrant hand soup and lotion to shampoo and bath oils. Replacing plastic toiletries with ceramic containers is one of the hotels eco-friendly initiatives. The outdoor bathroom featured a rain shower and a huge freestanding bathtub. I made use of it right away, indulging in its herbal essence selection to create a spa feeling in your own bathroom. It felt so serene to be in a warm bath whilst listening to the storm outside- perfect for a romantic couples’ evening.

My favourite part of this villa was it’s perfect location. I woke up early in the morning and opened the sliding doors to a private terrace. It was a mere step away from the beach and the sea. I enjoyed my morning coffee listening to the waves crashing into the shore behind the perfectly lined-up row of palm trees.

Breakfast at Pavillion

After a good nights’ sleep, we were ready to check out the breakfast buffet at Pavillion Restaurant. We sat on a verandah with panoramic views of Nha Trang Bay. The breakfast was outstanding. All of the ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. It varied from the range of tropical fruits and fresh juices to never-ending selections of cheeses, freshly baked pastries, eggs, pancakes or waffles with assorted jams and spreads. The service staff was also very attentive and made pleasant small talks with their guests.

Six Senses Spa

The resort provided endless choices of leisure activities. We started the day by lounging on huge wooden daybeds by the turquoise swimming pool whilst sipping fresh fruit juices. Afterwards we decided to explore the world renowned Six Senses Spa, which had specialty treatments and an extensive menu of traditional therapies to provide a truly relaxing and revitalizing experience.

The spa also hosted yoga sessions on the sea-facing deck. As yogi at heart, I could not imagine a better place to enjoy my practice.

The Verdict

If you are looking for a romantic escape or family retreats, look no further. Evason Ana Mandara will fulfill all your wishes. With stunning East Vietnam Sea views, awe inspiring resort design, friendly and helpful staff, endless choices of leisure activities and spa you will have the best weekend ever, just like we did.
