The film Dark Blood was in production 19 years ago when River Phoenix died on October 31st from a drug overdose. The production was shelved until recently when the director decided to finish it and it's now being seen in selected film festivals. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty interested in seeing how it came together with only 80% of Phoenix's role captured.

The beloved young actor, who was 23 when he collapsed outside the Viper Room in the early morning hours of Oct. 31, 1993, had flown to L.A. the previous day straight from the Utah set of Dark Blood – his hair dyed dark brown for the role.
