The Villa
A comfortable 30-minute speedboat ride from Sanur brings you to the beautiful island of Nusa Lembongan. First glimpses of the island reveal crystal clear waters, white sand beaches and lots of greenery. As you step out of the boat, Villa Voyage’s manager warmly greets you and escorts you to a waiting buggy. After a 15-minute drive you arrive at the villa where thestaff are waiting with a tray of hot towels, glasses of lime juice, and welcoming smiles.
The empress of lifestyle and retail Dato’ Farah Khan decorated this villa in Sandy Bay, inspired by her exotic travels, and her inimitable style is clocked the moment you step into the huge living room with its amazing ocean views.
The room is characterised with Louis Vuitton trunks, antique globes, Thai lacquer offering bowls and beautiful lampshades, and dominated by soft white hues perfectly complementing this open-air sea-breeze life-style. Coffee-table books on travel, fashion and lifestyle are displayed for your reading pleasure. Modern-day comforts such as air‐conditioning, WiFi, a 60‐inch flat‐screen LED TV, iPod dock and sound system, are seamlessly integrated with the old-world charm of coconut‐wood floors, bamboo, thatched alang‐alang roof and driftwood lamps.
The dining area features a huge teakwood table with six canvas director’s chairs. There is a cooking station behind in case you want to whip up your own meals or leave all that to a wonderful chef who will not fail to impress.
Bridging the pavilion and the beach is a huge ironwood deck with a 12 x 5-metre free‐form pool big enough for swimming laps, yet with a shallow platform for relaxation. There are plenty of poolside beanbags, deck chairs and comfortable daybeds for sunning and lounging, and the circular pergola is perfect for sunset cocktails or leisurely outdoor breakfasts.
The villa has five ensuite bedrooms furnished with queen‐size beds. Downstairs, the master suite features a lovely four-poster bed and opens onto the pool deck. Beyond the bedroom is a dressing area designed to accommodate even the most prolific packer. This leads into the bathroom with double basins, patio with open‐air shower and a sculptured terrazzo bathtub.
Next door, is the garden suite, which is perfect for kids. Upstairs, each of the two ocean suites recreate a luxury tented safari theme; the beds are under a floating canvas suspended from the apex of the alang‐alang roof. Each bedroom has its own balcony furnished with table, chairs and sun loungers. To the rear of the bedrooms is a large open‐plan bathroom with double basins and mirrors and a glazed enclosure with rain shower. The fifth bedroom is hidden in the garden and features a harem‐style silken ceiling reminiscent of a Bedouin tent.
