Surgical procedures for your chest

Do you long for a bigger, bouncier chest? Perhaps you want your assets reduced? Whatever the case, there’s a surgical procedure out there to suit you.

Here are four of the breast options available:

Breast enlargement

According to The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), boob jobs are the most popular types of cosmetic surgery in the UK. A total of 10,015 people went under the knife in 2011 alone with both men and women opting for this procedure – but what happens during the operation? Well, an incision is usually made underneath the breast or in the armpit and an implant is inserted. The wound is then stitched and the nipple is repositioned if necessary.

 Breast reduction

While many women opt for a breast enlargement at a reputable clinic, others want their chest downsized. This type of surgery is medically known as mammoplasty and involves the removal of breast tissue, skin and fat. It can alleviate back pain, neck ache, poor posture, excessive sweating, skin irritations and cut shoulders (tight bra straps) and is occasionally available on the NHS – depending on your condition.

Breast uplift

Have your breasts started to droop and sag? If so, you’re not alone. Many women are left with wrinkly, deflated breasts as a result of getting older, having children or losing weight – but a breast uplift can help. During the procedure, excess skin is removed from underneath the breast or around the areola and the skin is tightened. The nipple is then moved to a higher position to give a more youthful and firm appearance and the patient is left to recover.

Nipple correction

Did you know that inverted or enlarged nipples are very common complaints? That’s right, many women experience these problems, but nipple correction surgery can work wonders. There are various techniques a surgeon will use, but an inverted nipple will often be held in the right place by a few stitches. These then dissolve or are removed once the nipple has healed in the correct position.

Breast surgery is ideal for many women and has come on leaps and bounds in recent years – so why not find out more?
