The 5 Hotels That Nail Vegan Eating

Wikimedia Commons

With increased demand for healthier options, more and more hotels are putting vegan choices front and center (finally!). From hotels that keep sustainability in mind, to those that prioritize easy access to vegan-friendly meals (free of any animal products), we’ve found five places to stay from California to South Africa that will not disappoint.

The Stanford Inn by the Sea — Mendocino, CA

This northern California “EcoResort” could be considered heaven by any guest, vegan or otherwise. A certified organic farm on the estate supplies the Inn’s restaurant, The Ravens. Every dish on The Ravens’ entirely vegan menu includes only local and organic ingredients carefully selected with sustainability in mind. Don’t miss the restaurant’s signature dish, Sea Palm Strudel.

Samhitakasha Cob House Organic B&B — Muizenberg, South Africa

The “green” practices at this unique destination go way beyond what’s on the breakfast menu. The building itself is made from mud and straw, making nearly the whole structure recyclable. (Don’t worry — environmentally friendly sealants and paints have been used on the interior walls and floors. You won’t be walking around in dirt all day!) Each morning, guests are served a vegetarian breakfast with plenty of vegan choices, including organic locally grown produce. Muizenberg and the nearby city of Cape Town also offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian restaurants for lunch and dinner.

Ace Hotel and Swim Club — Palm Springs, CA

Planning a desert getaway? It doesn’t get more hip than the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. The on-site restaurant, The King’s Highway, has plenty of vegan offerings for every meal, as does the poolside cafe and room service menu. There are also plenty of other vegan options located nearby including Koffi and Native Foods, each just a short walk or bike ride away.

Anse Chastanet — St. Lucia

All of the dining options at this gorgeous Caribbean resort are worth traveling for, but it’s the entirely vegetarian on-site restaurant called Emerald’s that will have vegans drooling. The menu showcases organic produce grown on the resort’s own farm, including bananas, mangoes, avocadoes, and coconuts (to name a few). In the mood to change it up? The five other restaurants and cafes on the property can also accommodate vegan or vegetarian requests.

Encore at Wynn Las Vegas — Las Vegas, NV

The next time you make a trip to Sin City, plan to stay at this little slice of heaven. The hotel’s chefs worked with the famous vegan chef Tal Ronnen to make sure each of their animal-free offerings were the best they could be. Every restaurant in the establishment (and there are many) offers a vegan and vegetarian menu specifically designed to be just as complex and perfectly delicious as the non-vegan offerings.
