In a city of abundance, bordering on extravagance, there are still buildings that tower above the rest, literally and figuratively.

Here is some new construction in New York City fit for a king…or Russian oil baron, a Brazilian captain of industry, or just your garden-variety American tycoon.

432 Park Avenue

Upon completion in 2015, 432 Park Avenue will be the tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere. Located on Park Avenue between 56th and 57th Streets, this 96-story building by CIM Group and Macklowe Properties will showcase 126 ultra-high-end residences, ranging from studio apartments—utilized as staff quarters—to breathtaking penthouses. The top penthouse at 432 Park Avenue was recently reported as sold for $95 million to an undisclosed buyer.

This 1,396 foot tower will boast panoramic vistas of the entire city. Besides views of all five NYC boroughs, both rivers, and the Atlantic Ocean, the building will showcase an unparalleled array of amenities, including a private dining club for residents, an indoor pool, fitness center, and ever-so-much more.

505 West 19th Street

Though it didn’t even exist a few years ago, the High Line has emerged as Manhattan’s favorite park: that it happens to be an elevated and uncommonly lush only adds to the appeal. Featuring a pair of contemporary, deluxe 10-story towers with a shared lobby underneath the famed byway, 505 West 19th Street will be the newest and most luxurious addition to the greater Chelsea bailiwick.

These limestone and brick facades will showcase 35 upscale one-to-four-bedroom condominiums, as well as a townhouse and penthouse designed for the discerning buyer. With one tower facing east and the other oriented westward, residents will be presented with astonishing views of the surrounding Chelsea neighborhood and the Meatpacking District.

The Greenwich Lane

Occupying one of the most highly coveted blocks in the ultra-chic West Village, The Greenwich Lane will sport 10—yes, 10—new luxury buildings: five townhouses and five towers, with unique design features incorporating pre-war, mid-century and contemporary stylings. These buildings, which once made up St. Vincent’s Hospital, will comprise 200 masterfully redesigned one-to-six-bedroom condominiums.

Beyond that, the enchanting, shared private garden ensures a treat rarely encountered in NYC—a slice of private green space in the center of the city—making The Greenwich Lane the perfect blend of charm, location and decadence. Thomas O’Brien’s interior design work promises to be exceptional. In addition, the Greenwich Lane will offer phenomenal on-site amenities that outpace even its toniest neighbors.

11 East 68th Street

If you're looking for the ultimate in old New York luster and grandeur, look no further than The Marquand, where the property's masterfully redesigned pre-war apartments stunningly replicate the sensibility and charm of the New York mansions of yesteryear. Located on Madison Avenue, 11 East 68th Street encompasses a select range of condominiums as well as luxury penthouses.

Shelton, Mindel & Associates and Beyer Blinder Belle Architects have done a commendable job with the renovations. The building, which was originally constructed in 1913, features both classic and contemporary touches, including original oak floors and walls, reconstructed hardwood floors and stone countertops. A doorman, exercise room, and vibrant kids’ lounge add contemporary appeal that makes this a must-see for the discerning and chic city-dweller.

737 Park Avenue

If you're searching for that old New York charm with a modern twist, your bet may well be 737 Park Avenue. Masterfully redeveloped by Macklowe Properties, this coveted 20-story Park Avenue address encompasses 60 luxury condominiums.

Homes, which range from 3,000 square feet to 6,000 square feet, boast massive kitchens and large living spaces. Residents are presented with oversized bedrooms, expansive closets and generous dining rooms. Besides spacious living, 737 Park Avenue is situated in a prime location—maybe the most coveted in the City. Just blocks from Central Park, residents are conferred stone’s-throw access to New York’s most famous green space.
