The Tread1 Exoskeleton, designed by Devonworks, the only American watch company using its own proprietary movement, is a masterpiece of designer horology that displays the time via a complicated system of moving belts. Extremely innovative and unique, it indicates time through four 2-micron ultra-thin rubber belts and keeps precise with an optical sensor that monitors the position of each belt. Power for the Tread 1 is provided by a robust lithium-polymer rechargeable cell that runs for up to two weeks on a single charge and recharging is accomplished inductively, without wires, via a charging tower in only a few hours. The innovative engineering addition of lubricant-free ruby bearings at the friction points preclude the need for lubrication and significantly reduce required maintenance.

Due to its non-mechanical nature, in case of a fault, the entire motherboard can be replaced instead of figuring out which part of a 500-component movement is the weak point. A take-off from its predecessor, it showcases the intricate casework with an aim to maximize all the finer details. With the same ballistic polycarbonate glass, the increased skeletonization ensures that every detail crafted is showcased in detail. This same polycarbonate is used in the canopy of the F-22 Raptor, which is the most sophisticated, complex, over-engineered and most expensive air superiority fighter in the world.

This luxury watch is powered by a lithium polymer rechargeable cell, which is charged by wireless induction. A stunning piece of technological horology, it has changed the game forever. Moving belts showing time, wirelessly charged with bulletproof quality and self-monitored balance, it takes the mind to a time that is futuristic, innovative, and nano-speed. Looks and sounds like hundreds of superspeed jets racing to the bingo point.

A watch fit for a true connoisseur of watches, technology and both for the older rich and new luxury young market for whom technology is the definition of luxury.

One amazing feature of Tread 1 Exoskeleton is that it's bulletproof! Will wonders ever cease?! To add to these little innovative marvels, Tread 1’s crystal also senses temperature to relay to its motherboard so that it can calculate any variances and create homeostasis. With parts from an aerospace company instead of a Swiss manufacturer, its physical durability is of a higher level than the other luxury watches that are not so high-technology. Another factor lending it high durability is the exoskeleton, resembling the Terminator that supports the polycarbonate panes that make up the case: a protective sheath. Looks like “Go Reverse” is the Devon signature visible in everything from the brand’s design-driven engineering to Scott Devon’s rebel persona.

The familiar steel case of its predecessor is now fitted with a number of transparent polycarbonate components, including the crown, the horizontal end caps of the case and the lugs. This transparency allows light through to view its parts from multiple angles. The most riveting parts are the translucent time belts, which allow for a clearer view of the pieces moving beneath as they work to create a hypnotized appeal. To further enhance the killer machine look, Exoskeleton comes with a steel wristband instead of the rubber strap in Tread 1 that was awarded the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve in 2011.
