Udaipur stands on the banks of Lake Pichola, with its many white marble palaces reflecting in the lake's calm waters. Udaipur is perhaps one of the most romantic cities in India. It also has one of the most beautiful manmade medieval settings in the world. The large (almost 1000 roomed) City Palace dominates the lake and the fairytale white marble island palace. The Lake Palace Hotel seems afloat in the water. On the other side of the lake is the mysterious, domed low-rise structure of the new Oberoi Udaivilas, a luxury hotel by the world renowned Oberoi Hotel Group. Oberoi Hotels & Resorts has been voted World's Best Hotel Brand by Travel + Leisure. Furthermore, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur has been voted the World's Best Hotel Overall.
