Three luxury home décor details to include in your home

Luxury is in the details. It’s in the quality of products, the creative use of space and holistic styling and design. Luxury isn’t just bought; it is created and felt. Creating a luxurious home therefore is more than just installing the latest high-tech kitchen and using rich fabrics and sumptuous furnishings. Of course luxury products go a long way, but you need to bring the entire look together and this takes a good eye for style along with plenty of planning. Here are three areas where you can inject luxury into your home.

Doors and windows

Doors and windows are often not considered or are a mere afterthought and thinking as much will do you home a disservice. Doors and windows on the exterior of your property are used to structure a visitor’s first impressions and likewise interior doors form the first and last impression of every room in your home. Fit the style of all doors and windows into the style of your home. Natural materials and good craftsmanship go along way, but the styles need to match up too. Plenty of natural light is also important.

Sabre and Jones knows a thing or two about doors. It has everything from interior to patio doors each finished to a very high standard. But it’s Sabre and Jones’ folding door collection that really stands out this summer. The 12ft oak veneer folding doors offer high quality, fashion and form; they allow you to blend indoor and outdoor space and above all they are elegant and well made by Sabre and Jones.

Lighting

Dramatic lighting that is both functional and creative is one of the easiest ways of making a statement and transforming the appearance of your home. Avoid central lighting pieces other than above tables or to make an impact using chandeliers and their ilk. Instead use lighting in certain areas of the room to create curves and shadows that add interest to the room.

Flooring

Wherever possible use natural materials in their rawest form. Slate, stone, wood and tiles can be used for dramatic effect but they also ooze luxury and style. For rooms where you’d like something warm underfoot, natural materials still work best but look for softer fabrics such as hemp, wool and animal skin. Remember you don’t have to have wall-to-wall carpet; sometimes rugs are enough to add warmth without detracting from the beautiful flooring underneath.
